After a serious accident your first priority should be to see if your cat is breathing, if its heart is beating; and to determine if it is bleeding profusely. Aspects of emergency first aid including electric shock, artificial respiration, road traffic accidents, bone fractures, snake bites, rat bites, cat bites, general accidents and severe bleeding are dealt with in this section . First aid for other accidents is described in the section of our website titled  Cats - Accidents & Other Injuries.
