Ear & Hearing Problems in Cats - The good health of a cats ears and hearing system is vital its success as a hunter.

The ear consists of three parts, any of which can become a problem to the cat. The three sections include the outer ear (the ear flap), the middle ear which contains bones that transmit vibrations to the inner ear; and the inner ear which contains the ear drum.

 Of all the different breeds and varieties of cat the blue eyed and white coated breeds are more prone to conditions affecting the ear.

This area of our website considers some of the more common conditions that can affect a cats ears and hearing including aural haematoma, deafness, ear mites, otitis, physical trauma and torn ear flaps.
